Hunger – SBC Week 7
Hunger – a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to eat
Hunger is one of the biggest problems in the world. One in nine people in the world are not fed enough food. 3.1 million children die each year because of malnutrition. People have estimated that about one person dies every ten second because of malnutrition.
Poverty also can fit into the problem. Even though there is a lot of food, if you are in severe poverty, you would have a hard time buying the foods you need. When you don’t get enough food, you normally get sick. When you are sick, you sometimes don’t go to work. Finally, when you don’t work, you don’t get as much money. That just puts you into more poverty. It is really hard for some people to survive while being stuck in poverty.
The world is hoping that they can be able to end hunger by 2030. It is sad to know that hunger “takes advantage” of the poor. The world has enough food for everyone, but the poor can’t afford what they need to survive. In places around the world, you can work for food. They are called “food for work” programs. You can build roads, dig wells, help build school, etc. Instead of money as a pay, you can get food to help feed your family.

It shows all the people that die from hunger. This was very sad to see. I got a lot of information from this site though.
