Hashima Island, Japan – Spoopy Sites #2

Whenever you hear Japan, your probably think of nice streets with the smell of street food, but on this island, it is full of complicated histories.  People have left the island to let it crumble and let nature take over.

This abandoned island sits about nine miles away from Nagasaki. Another name for this island is Gunkanjima (Battleship Island).  Hashima island once was used for undersea coal mining.  It was a representation of Japan’s rapid industrialization.  It functioned as a coal facility from 1887 to 1974.  Once petroleum started to replace coal, the mines started to shut down and people left.  Hashima Island was untounched for about three decades.  Once the island started to crumble, the island caught those interested in historic ruins.

Hashima’s past wasn’t all this simple though.

During World War II, Japanese wartime policies exploited enlisted Korean civilians and Chinese prisoners from war.  They turned into forced laborers.  They worked under harsh conditions, and it is estimated that about 1,000 workers died between the 1930s and the end of the war.  Deaths were mostly because of unsafe working conditions, malnutrition, and exhaustion.

Although the island has a dark past, tourists and visitors can be taken on tours of the island.  Even with people visiting the island often, most of the past is a mystery.  If you would like to take a “tour” of some parts of the island, click here.  There is a virtual tour created by Google.  It allows you to wander some parts of the island.  If you really want to go and buy tickets, click here 🙂 If you buy tickets please take me 😀 haha.

Thank you all for reading! I really enjoy making these posts. I hope to see you all later! Bye 🙂

Baptiste Is the New Meaning of OP

Hey everyone! Recently, the Overwatch God, Jeff Kaplan, has released a new hero on the PTR (Public Testing Room), Baptiste.  Let me tell you, Baptiste is OP.  Forget Moira, Baptiste is the new definition of OVER POWERED.  Let me start off with a little intro to Baptiste.

I can’t really tell you much background about him yet, so yeah…I can just tell you about his abilities :).  First thing! His weapon! His weapon is a Biotic Launcher.  It can shoot like a regular gun, or it can shoot “healing grenades” that heal teammates on impact.

BA BA BUM BA BUM BUM! ABILITIES 😀

REGENERATIVE BURST – Pretty simple ability 🙂 It regenerates the health of nearby allies for a short amount of time.

IMMORTALITY FIELD – He uses a device to create a field that prevents allies from dying.  No matter how much damage they take, they will stay at 40 health.  One downside is that the shield can be destroyed.  Actually, that isn’t a downside.

EXO BOOSTS – This isn’t really an ability.  It is more of a passive.  When you crouch then jump, you will get a boost that launches you up in the air.

AMPLIFICATION MATRIX – This is Baptiste’s ultimate.  He creates a giant rectangle in the air.  Whenever an ally shoots through it, it doubles their attack on enemies, and it adds healing effects of friendly projectiles that go through it.  Basically, one Tracer clip (ammo load) is enough to eliminate a Roadhog. Pretty OP if you ask me 🙂

This video is his origin story.  Each Overwatch character has a backstory, so Blizzard makes a small video out of it.  If you would like to see more videos and facts about Baptiste, click here!  Jeff has blessed us with 30 heroes yAy!  Can’t wait for another DPS to come out 🙂 We need more tanks, Jeff…Please.

Also, I highly recommend you play Overwatch if you have Xbox Live!  Overwatch is such an unique game, and it deserves a lot of credit.  Beware of toxic gamers though 🙂

That is pretty much all I have for this post! It was pretty short, but there isn’t much information on him since he came out very recently.  Thank you for reading! The next post will probably be another Spoopy Site! See you there!

The Island of Dolls – Spoopy Sites #1

Yo! I am starting a new series :D.  I think this will be fun because the stuff I am going to be talking about isn’t for easily scared people.  I will be talking about some of the most supernatural and scary sites around the world.  Today, I am going to be talking about the The Island of Dolls!  I hope you enjoy!

The Island of Dolls is just south of Mexico City.  It is a small island with a horrifying background.  In Spanish, this island is called Isla de las Muñecas.  The island is dedicated to the lost soul of a girl in mysterious circumstances.  The island has thousands of people, but they aren’t humans.  They are dolls.  Dolls can look a bit intimidating in the day, but at night, they take a on a whole new definition.

Of course, like every other haunted place, there is a backstory.  Don Julian Santana Barrera was the “caretaker” of the island.  He found a little girl who drowned in a mysterious circumstance.  Shortly after, Julian saw a small doll floating in the canal.  He believed that the doll belonged to the girl.  He picked it up and hung it on the tree.  He said it was a way of respecting her spirit.  Many people question the mere existence of the girl.  Reports say that Julian made up the story of the girl.  Julian apparently was “haunted” by the spirit of the girl.  In an attempt to please her, he started to hang up more dolls.  He realized that the dolls themselves were haunted by her spirit, so he continued to collect eerie dolls and hang them around the island.

Many of Julian’s close friends say that they have never seen him like that before.  It was like he was being driven by an unseen force.  It completely changed him.  Apparently, he was traumatized by the fact that he couldn’t save the girl.

After 50 years of collecting dolls, Julian’s dead body was found in the same spot where the girl drowned. DUN DUN DUNNNNNN!

WARNING THERE IS A KINDA SCARY THUMBNAIL IN THE VIDEO DOWN BELOW…BEWARE 🙂
